Faux KitchenMore Images Kitchen Faux Wall Treatment

This faux treatment contrasts the rich, dark hardwood floors and white crown molding and trim work.

We designed a “custom color” for this treatment utilizing the color of the kitchen cabinetry. The archway, as well as, the cabinets now have a more dramatic impact.

White Walls Transformed Dining RoomMore Images

BEFORE
White walls and neutral window treatments do not highlight the architectural details of the wrap around dining room walls. The room is sterile and not inviting.

AFTER
A glaze treatment has been done in a dramatic shade of green bringing an immediate contrast to the window treatments and balances the dark wood of the dining room table and chairs.

Broadway Bound Bathroom 'Broadway' BathroomMore Images

Our clients' artwork and her Broadway Playbills were the inspiration for these “show stopping” faux treatments.

The entire ceiling was transformed with New York City theatre Playbills. A soft color wash was added to the basic white vanity. Comedy and Tragedy Masks were then added for some "comic relief".

Horizontal Striping and a wave-like pattern were added to all the walls. Colors were selected from the clients' artwork. Strip lighting resembling make-up stage lights complements the bathroom's theme. The finishing touch was adding an “admit one” ticket to the outside bathroom door.

Faux-Painted Foyer Makes a Dramatic Entrance FoyerMore Images

Our client requested a big WOW for this entrance. Larry transformed this foyer with various shades of metallic paint.

For added visual interest and depth, the metallic paints had a textured surface.

The illumination from the chandelier adds a soft glow that highlights this faux treatment as well as the furniture and accessories.

Textured Faux Brick Treatment Faux BrickMore Images

This treatment has been used in pantries, mudrooms, archways, and sunrooms.

These treatments have texture and actually look and feel like real bricks.

This textured treatment can be modified to have an “Old World” finish (aged) look or resemble a crumbling “fresco” wall. Larry specializes in textured treatments.

Teen-agers' Room Gets a "Pop of Color" 'Arielle bedroom'More Images

Starting Point: All walls were painted a soft pink.

Inspiration: Teen-agers' favorite colors and her love of fashion.

We used a Color Block Technique on the impact wall using various shades and intensities of pink, kiwi, aqua and lavender. Varying the site of blocks provided more visual interest.

On the remaining walls, we created a color-block border as well as a band of hot pink and black to add weight and balance.

We included an illustration of the teenager and her name to further personalize her bedroom.

Tromp L'oeil Brick Wall Treatment Bricks & GrapevineMore Images

Faux Stone and Crumbling Bricks have been hand-painted using a Tromp L'oeil effect (fool the eye) surrounding an actual window.

A warm yellow glaze was first applied to the walls. Next grapes and grapevines were hand-painted over the glaze treatment.

Hand-painted shading and highlights were then added to the bricks, grapes and grapevine where the sun would have naturally created these effects.

Larry creates a magical transformation with a hand-painted mural or accents, such as your child's name or a special saying, throughout their room. Colorful, Playful, and Imaginative, Tina L. Robenolt, Room Stylist, assists with this creative process. Rooms can always be designed to grow with your child.

Children’s Characters Sea CreaturesMore Images

Inspired by your child's Favorite Fairytales, Storybook, or Motion Picture Characters, we can create a THEME ROOM that tells a “special story.”

Faux Finishing a “Dream Kitchen” Dream KitchenMore Images

A custom wall treatment was designed to complement the client’s kitchen cabinetry, wood trim, and architectural details.

Two colors of paint were selected to be fauxed over a base color.

Larry’s faux finish technique resulted in visually adding texture and weight to this grand-size kitchen.

The client then requested Larry to hand-paint grapevines, grapes, and birdnests throughout the kitchen in key focal points.

The end result: A kitchen with AMBIENCE!

Sophia's Storybook Room...An Enchanted “Alice in Wonderland” THEME! Storybook RoomMore Images

Faux Painter and Decorative Artist, Larry Robenolt, first began his design concept with bedroom walls that were painted pale pink.

After collaboration with his clients and decisions regarding furniture placement, the transformation began.

The wall behind Sophia’s bed was striped using a medium pink paint against the lighter pink walls. Larry hand-painted the Cheshire Cat perched on a large tree with leaves trailing down to Sophia’s bed. A miniature Alice looks on as if to wish Sophia a “good night’s sleep”.

Next, a pink border was painted to wrap around the remaining three walls. Special Sentiments chosen by the Mother were then added to the border to further personalize the child’s room . . . “Once Upon a Time”, “Happily Ever After”, “When You Wish Upon A Star”. . . .

Larry then hand-painted a “mini-mural” of Alice at her Tea Party on her oversized fuschia chair. A lattice background creates a backdrop for Alice and her friends. The table and mural was painted in a three-dimensional perspective style!

Let the fantasy begin...
